Fly Fishing for Red Kaloi in Borneo - full Film

Fly fishing and camping for Giant Gourami, the Red Kaloi, in the jungle rivers of Borneo (Kalimantan, Indonesia) - the most intense dry fly fishing in the world. Now on your big screen!

9wt rods, 4/0 hooks, 60lb leaders and you can't let the Kaloi take an inch of line to have any chance of landing these hard fighting fish in the fallen-tree filled jungle rivers.

In 2023, Austin V Kane and Eric Petzel began an obsession with dry fly fishing in the jungle for Red Kaloi. In 2024, we returned with “Reptile” Robb Herrington and Ryan McGinnis (filmmaker) and we endeavored to capture the essence on film.

RAJA KALOI was an official selection of the Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) 2025, premiering last year in Atlanta.

I read the post and it really shows how wild and peaceful the Borneo fishing experience is, especially how nature and patience come together in one moment. While going through a tough exam period, I once thought about pay someone to do my online exam just because I felt overwhelmed, and it reminded me how pressure can push people toward quick fixes. But reading this makes me reflect that real experiences, like patience in fishing or studying, teach more than shortcuts ever could.
